Snagglepuss is an anthropomorphic mountain lion and one of the main characters of the Yogi Bear franchise.
Background[]
Obsessed with the fine arts, Snagglepuss is a self-proclaimed lion of sophistication. Although he is both a passionate poet and actor, being a wild animal meant that he spends most of his time chasing from hunters or escape from capture.
He's best known for his famous catchphrase, "Heavens to Murgatroyd!", along with phrases such as "Exit, stage left!" (or stage right, and sometimes even up or down), a phrase used in theatrical stage directions. Finally, Snagglepuss tends to add the word "even" to the end of his statements.
Also, he is a good friend of Yogi Bear, who has joined the latter in several of his groups including Yogi's Gang from the series of the same name, Yogi's Treasure Hunters from Yogi's Treasure Hunt, and L.A.F. Squad from Yo Yogi!. He is also the co-commentator of the Laff-a-Lympics.
Personality[]
Snagglepuss is a friendly, sophisticated, dramatic, and confident lion who enjoys the fine things in life and shows particular affinity for the theatre. No matter what he does, however, he always winds up back where he started or worse off than he was before.
Physical Appearance[]
Snagglepuss is a tall and slender anthropomorphic mountain lion with pink fur, a light pink muzzle, a black nose, black eyes, black eyebrows, whiskers, and a long, curvy tail. His set of clothes consists of a black bow tie with a white collar and white cuffs with white cufflinks.
In Laff-a-Lympics, as a co-commentator, he wears a gold long-sleeved jacket.
As a teenager in Yo Yogi!, he wore a red and white long-sleeved jacket with a yellow letter "J", a wide collar, and a yellow short-sleeved shirt, blue pants, and a pair of green glasses with blue lenses attached to it.

- Daws Butler was the original voice actor of Snagglepuss. By the time Fender Bender 500 and Yo, Yogi! went into production, Butler had died, so Greg Burson took over the role.
