Yogi Bear Wiki

Captain Good/Phantom Phink is a transformative character, a racer and the main villain and antagonist of Yogi's Space Race, a spin-off of The Yogi Bear Show.

Background[]

To the other characters, Captain Good is the personification of good sportsmanship and fights for everything right. In truth, he's Phantom Phink, a space racer who uses all possible sorts of cheating like Dick Dastardly, except that he actually wins some races, crossing the finish line either as Captain Good or as Phantom Phink. Both master and pet can transform themselves, and their vehicle, at the touch of the Quick Phink Change button.

Although Good/Phink never tricks people into believing they are seeing both of them at the same time and Phink never shows up for the start of any race, nobody suspects they're one and the same, not even the narrator. Good/Phink usually tries to get help from people who live on the planets where the races take place, no matter which identity he must use.

History[]

Captain Good[]

According to Captain Good's biography shown in the episode, "The Mizar Marathon", Captain Good (known as Sir Captain Good) along with his sidekick, Clean Kat (known as Squire Clean Kat) came from a long line of medieval knights. He refined his suit of armor with a stainless steel cape for added stability and all-weather knighthood. With his many inventions and insights, he forgot to think about rust problems.

Phantom Phink[]

According to Phantom Phink's biography shown in the episode, "The Lost Planet of Atlantis", he came from a long line of double-crossing Phinks dating back to Ancient Rome from a very long time ago. When Caesar fell on the senate floor, it was because of a banana peel placed by Brutus Phink. And in a laboratory, when Dr. Jekyll (as Captain Good) drank the potion, he became known as the Phantom Phink.
